Foodstirs is an organic baking line, they promise a more natural and easier way to get baking done. I love what this line is about. I usually cook from scratch but sometimes its nice to be able to just grab a box and some oil and eggs and make up an easy dessert. I hated that the only options available to me had ingredients I didn't want in my food. Thankfully Galit Laibow, Greg Fleishman and Sarah Michelle Gellar felt the same way and did something about it! Who would of thought Buffy would be going from butt kicking to boxed baking mixes? So if you head over to foodstirs you will see the baking mixes they offer, some even in stores and you will also see they have a subscription box that they send out every other month. 1 Kit will cost you 14.99 + shipping and multiple boxes go down to $13 + shipping. This months box was a campfire theme.
My kids had a blast making these cupcakes, all the steps were simple and easy to execute. As they promise there was only 6 steps from start to finish. It took us about a little over an hour to get these done. They came out great and tasted delicious. We ended up eating these when we finished since the frosting was already melting from the heat. Dessert before dinner is always better anyways.
Since we were baking already i decided just to make pizza for dinner. I usually make my own pizza dough it's super simple and really quick to do. It does need an hour or two to rise though. Here is the recipe I use:
makes: 2
Ingredients:
1 tsp Active Dry yeast
4 cps All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp kosher salt
1/3 cps Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Directions:
Sprinkle yeast over 1 1/2 cup warm water.
Coat a separate mixing bowl with a light drizzle of olive oil, toss to coat dough in olive oil on both sides, then cover the bowl with a moist kitchen towel and set in a warm place to rise 1-2 hours. I usually set mine in my oven or on top of the stove when its on so it helps it rise.
Using your hands stretch the dough to your desired shape, pressing the dough into the pan. If your dough tears don't worry just pinch it closed again.
After dough has doubled in size, punch down lightly and divide in half. You can either use the dough now or wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen up to 3 months.
When you're ready to use the dough preheat oven to 500 degrees. Lightly drizzle olive oil on a pizza pan or rimmed baking sheet. I like to sprinkle cornmeal on my baking sheets to keep my pizza from sticking but it's totally up to you.

Lay the desired toppings over the dough and bake the pizza for 8-10 min, until the edges of the crust are golden. Here's our finished pizza. I usually use whatever i have on hand for our pizza toppings.
I love how excited my kids get about being in the kitchen with me, the look of pride they get when they see what we've created is truly priceless. The foodstirs box was definitely worth getting for our family, my kids are going to flip when they find out that October's box is monster cupcakes. What does your family do to bond? What do you think of the Foodstirs box?
